Taiwan's industrial
production index in January this year decreased by 1.78 percent as compared to January 2013 and was down 2.93 percent month on month, according to the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Meanwhile,
Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial
production index in January increased by 1.22 percent compared to the same month of 2013.
In January of the current year, industrial output in the country's basic metal
manufacturing sector decreased by 3.27 percent and output of metal product
manufacturing decreased by 8.21 percent, both compared with January 2013. In addition, on month-on-month basis, in January the basic metal
manufacturing sector saw a decline of 2.54 percent in output, while the metal product
manufacturing sector saw a decrease of 8.92 percent.
Meanwhile, in January this year,
production in
Taiwan's machinery and equipment industry decreased by 4.31 percent, output in the automotive industry decreased by 6.44 percent, while
production in the Taiwanese construction sector increased by 6.04 percent, all year on year.
