Stainless steel round bar review decision by Canada
According to the announcement by steel authority Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT), upon receipt of enough comments from interested parties, an expiry review is decided to be initiated. The review is due to be completed on April 16, 2003. According to reports, a hearing is scheduled for July 7, 2003.
The expiry review aims determining whether the expiry of the findings in respect of certain
stainless steel round bar is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the goods.
The product description covered under this duty is
stainless steel round bar of sizes 25mm diameter up to 570 mm diameter inclusive.
Import measures implemented on the
stainless bar imports on September 4, 1998 will expire on September 3, 2003, with the exception of
Slovakia expiry for which is June 16, 2004. The countries subject to these duties and review are
Germany,
France,
India,
Italy,
Japan,
Slovakia,
Spain,
Sweden,
Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
Furthermore, duties on imports from South
Korea of the specified product will also be subject to expiry review. The duty for South Korean
stainless round bar was implemented on June 18, 1999.
