South Korea’s POSCO eyes Zaporizhstal acquisition

It is reported that South Korean steel giant POSCO has placed a preliminary bid to obtain a controlling stake in one of the largest Ukrainian steelmakers, Zaporizhstal.

Accordingly, POSCO is one of three bidders for Zaporizhstal, along with the world's largest integrated metals and mining company ArcelorMittal and the Russian steelmaker Severstal.
 
The final bids for Zaporizhstal are planned to be conducted in June this year.
