South Korea’s auto output up 5.1 percent in January-July

In July this year, South Korea's total automotive (cars and commercial vehicles) output amounted to 409,283 units, up 7.58 percent month on month and increasing by 22.4 percent year on year, according to a report released by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA). On the other hand, South Korea's car and commercial vehicle output in the first seven months of the current year saw a year-on-year increase of 5.1 percent to 2,751,825 units.

Meanwhile, in July this year South Korean automotive exports totaled 266,741 units, up 3.24 percent month on month and increasing by 16 percent year on year. In the January-July period of the current year, the country's automotive exports increased by 2.6 percent year on year to 1,866,624 units.

In July this year, the number of vehicles sold in the South Korean domestic market totaled 128,114 units, up 4.96 percent month on month and increasing by 1.9 percent year on year. In the first seven months of this year, domestic vehicle sales in South Korea increased by 4.7 percent year on year to 840,914 units.
