South Korea's auto output up 2.57 percent in H1

In June this year, South Korea's total automotive (cars and commercial vehicles) output amounted to 380,420 units, up 1.86 percent month on month and declining by 4.53 percent year on year, according to a report released by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA). On the other hand, South Korea's car and commercial vehicle output in the first half of the current year saw a year-on-year increase of 2.57 percent to 2,342,542 units.

Meanwhile, in June this year South Korean automotive exports totaled 258,360 units, up 1.69 percent month on month and decreasing by 6.92 percent year on year. In the first half of the current year, the country's automotive exports increased by 0.67 percent year on year to 1,599,883 units.

In June this year, the number of vehicles sold in the South Korean domestic market totaled 122,061 units, up 2.27 percent year on year and stable compared to May. In the first half of this year, domestic vehicle sales in South Korea increased by 5.3 percent year on year to 712,800 units.
