According to data released by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), in January this year the value of South Africa’s exports of base metals and articles thereof totaled ZAR 12.68 billion ($776.55 million), up 1.9 percent from December.
In January, the country’s imports of base metals and articles thereof amounted to ZAR 8.56 billion ($524.38 million), increasing by 30.1 percent from the previous month.
