German plantmaker SMS Group has announced that Stahlwerk Thüringen, a company of Brazil-based steelmaking group CSN, has placed an order for upgrade of its section mill in Unterwellenborn, Germany.
According to the company statement, SMS will supply a new stand for the section mill, which is necessary as a result of the continuously growing range of sections produced, especially to include heavier and larger section sizes.
Commissioning of the upgraded plant is scheduled for August 2019.
