German plantmaker SMS Group has announced that Italy-based steelmaker Marcegaglia has placed an order with the company for a high-performance two-strand reversing cold rolling mill to be implemented at its Ravenna facility.
According to SMS, at its Ravenna facility Marcegaglia produces cold rolled carbon steel sheets and strips for a wide range of industrial applications with a capacity of 500,000 mt per year.
The new mill is scheduled to start operation by April 2020.
