SMS Siemag to supply Dragon Steel’s third converter

On May 27, Germany-based plantmaker SMS Siemag announced that it has received an order from Dragon Steel, a  subsidiary of Taiwan's largest steelmaker China Steel Corp. (CSC), to supply the third 230-mt converter as part of the extension of its carbon steel plant.
 
The third converter is scheduled to be commissioned in 2012. The converter shop, with a total of three converters, is designed for an annual production of six million metric tons of steel.
