Smorgon Steel expands its tube mills

Australian integrated steelmaker Smorgon Steel Group Ltd. is going to expand its tube making plants at Acacia Ridge in Queensland due to strong demand from domestic and international markets. The company will invest $17 million for this expansion plan. The company will construct new tube mills. After the construction of the new tube mills, the annual capacity of plants in Acacia Ridge will increase by 60% or more than 30'000 tons. Furthermore, the expansion plan is anticipated to create new job oppurtunities for about 72 employees.
