Siemens starts up bar mill of Handan Iron & Steel

On March 30, Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI announced that it has completed the new bar mill of the Chinese steelmaker Handan Iron & Steel Co. Engineering in less than six months, with the first bar being rolled after an additional period of only six months.
 
Handan Iron & Steel's new rolling mill is designed to produce an approximate annual 800,000 mt of special-bar-quality (SBQ) steels and expands the production capacity and product range of Handan Iron & Steel, replacing outdated production equipment with a new high-end productivity line.
