Gerdau’s Peruvian subsidiary Siderperu has increased rebar output by 15 percent in 2014, the company said.

Despite releasing the growth of rebar output in 2014, the company didn’t disclose how much of the product it produced last year, although it stated that rebar production increased 64 percent from 2010 to 2014, thanks to a series of investments.

Siderperu said it invested about $245 million in the last eight years to modernize its Chimbote plant, in the city of Chimbote. Last year, Gerdau’s Siderperu received ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.
