In spite of softening demand in China, the steel sales volume of the Shandong Province-based sales center of Beijing-based Chinese steelmaker Shougang Group reached 185,600 mt in the first quarter of the current year, compared to a sales volume of less than 183,600 mt in the whole of last year, according to Shougang Daily. The sales center was built just one year ago.

Accordingly, the respective sales volumes of the Shandong sales center in January, February and March this year amounted to 57,100 mt, 60,400 mt and 68,100 mt.

Shougang Group's deliveries of cold rolled steel and steel plate to the Shandong market account for almost 30 percent of its overall steel supplies to this market.
