Shougang eyes Dalian Port as steel export hub
In order to support the revitalization of northeastern China's old industrial base, Dalian Customs has taken steps to improve customs clearance efficiency for exports. This, along with further improvements in bulk and miscellaneous shipping center construction, will allow Dalian Port to reap the full benefits of its geographical advantage. Following the lead of Anshan Steel, Benxi Steel and Pujin Steel Plate Corp., Shougang has hinted that it would consider using Dalian Port as its main export hub. Shougang has already exported 1'097 tons of HR sheet, worth $662,000 in total, to Australia via Dalian Port in 2005.Shougang eyes Dalian Port as steel export hub
