Shanxi’s coking coal exports surge in April

According to the latest customs data, in April this year the Chinese province of Shanxi exported a total of 121,000 mt of coking coal, worth $50.03 million, constituting the highest monthly export volume since December 2008. Coking coal was the province's most important export product in the month in question.

In the first four months of the current year, Shanxi registered total coking coal exports worth $69.46 million. Throughout 2009, monthly export volumes of coking coal from Shanxi were in the range of 10,000-30,000 mt.
