Shandong Province to build four contingency coal reserve bases in 2011

As stated by the Coal Industry Bureau of China's Shandong Province, in 2011 Shandong Province intends to build four contingency coal reserve bases with a total coal reserve capacity of around 3 million mt, while it plans to build six to eight such coal reserve bases by 2015 with a total coal reserve capacity of over 6 million mt.

According to the plan, the first four contingency coal reserve bases will be built at Longkou, Laiwu, Zhucheng and Qihe.

In addition, the Shandong provincial government is to provide support to coal enterprises with contingency coal reserve capacities of over 600,000 mt and with annual coal distribution capabilities reaching 20 million mt, in order to help them to participate in the mentioned coal reserve project.
