Shaanxi-based steelmaker to replace four converters in 2021

The Industry and Information Technology Department of China’s Shaanxi Province has announced that Shaanxi-based Shaan Steel Long Steel Company is planning to begin the construction of two 100 mt converters and one 94 mt alloy steel converter in June 2020, which are expected to be put into operation in December 2021. The new converters will add 3.39 million mt of steelmaking capacity.

At the same time, Shaan Steel Longsteel Company will close 3.4 million mt of steelmaking capacity, demolishing four 60 mt converters before December 2021.
