Severstal North America appoints General Manager of Metallics Purchasing

Severstal North America announced Wednesday that it has appointed Sachin Shivaram, General Manager, Metallics Purchasing, reporting to Saikat Dey, Chief Strategy and Procurement Officer. He will be based in Columbus, Mississippi.

Shivaram joins Severstal from ArcelorMittal, where he was most recently Head of Strategy and Marketing for Long Carbon Americas in Chicago, Illinois. Previously, he also held the positions of Director, Strategy and Director, Sales for ArcelorMittal in Mexico City. Shivaram began his career as an Associate for McKinsey and Company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and literature from Harvard University, a Master of Philosophy in political science from the University of Cambridge and a Law degree from Yale University.
