Severstal increases steel output in 2005

Russian steelmaker Severstal produced 10.8 million tons of crude steel in 2005. This indicates a year-on-year increase of 3.5 percent. The company's finished steel output rose 5.8 percent year on year to 9.8 million tons last year. The volume of coke output jumped 100.1 percent year on year and the cast iron production climbed 100.7 percent. Severstal produced over 10.4 million tons of crude steel and over 9.2 million tons of finished steel in 2004.
