Spanish plantmaker Sarralle has announced that it will build a new facility for Spanish industrial waste recycler Befesa in Turkey. Investing $25 million in the project, Befesa will increase its steel dust capacity to 110,000 mt per year. This will allow it to utilize a greater amount of dust to obtain zinc and slag. Both materials will be reused in other sectors, becoming a source of renewable raw material, contributing to the environmental sustainability of the planet, allowing completion of the production process in a sustainable way, and reusing all the elements of the process.

Befesa is a services company specializing in the recycling of steel dust, salt slags and aluminium residues, as well as related logistics and other related industrial services. The company has jointly owned a steel dust recycling plant in Iskenderun, Turkey since 2010 with Canadian Silvermet Inc.
