Basque region, Spain-based seamless stainless steel pipe producer Tubacex has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian state-owned company Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) specialized in the manufacturing of special steel for diverse projects in India.

According to the company statement, the agreement will allow the joint development of advanced materials for the energy sector, technological alliances and the promotion of local manufacturing capacities.

TUBACEX says that, with the nuclear energy sector growing in India, large-scale investments in energy infrastructures becomes crucial. The company’s first move to this end was to acquire Prakash Steelage in 2015 with the aim of improving its proximity to the region by offering competitive products. Since then, an investment plan aimed at preparing the company on a technological level has been undertaken, with significant effects on the quality of the products and an increase in their productive capacity.

According to TUBACEX, the alliance with MIDHANI will be another step in moving closer to highly demanding technical projects in this area. The experience of both companies will allow the development of new technologies and solutions focused on increasing energy efficiency and competitiveness to continue advancing.
