Austria-based international plant and equipment supplier Andritz has announced that it will modernize the cold strip processing line No. 3 at the Palmones plant of Spanish stainless steel producer Acerinox.
The scope of the modernization includes engineering and delivery of a new chemical processing section, major modifications to the mechanical equipment (e.g. welding machine), new rotary roller stands for the furnace, as well as the electrical equipment, dismantling of existing parts of the plant, and commissioning of the upgraded line. The modernization work is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2018.
With the modernization of the cold strip line No. 3, Acerinox aims to reach the quality level of its new cold strip processing line No. 5, which was also supplied by Andritz and is currently in the commissioning phase.
