The Korea Trade Commission under South Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has launched an antidumping investigation into imports of specialty steel bars and rods from China, according to media reports.
The investigation, which covers the period between January 1, 2025 and December 31 2025, was initiated following complaints from domestic steel producers SeAH Besteel and SeAH Changwon Special Steel, alleging unfairly low-priced imports from China. The investigation aims to determine whether the imports involve unfair pricing and whether they are causing injury to domestic industry.
If preliminary findings confirm dumping and injury, South Korean authorities could impose provisional antidumping duties before a final determination is reached.
