Chicago, Illinois-based metals processor and distributor, Ryerson Inc., announced Friday that it will expand its Little Rock, Arkansas service center. Ryerson plans to add heavy plate leveling, straightening and forming equipment and shot-blasting capability to the facility.

Ryerson also said that it is investing in machinery that will support high-definition plasma cutting and the ability to drill, tap, machine and bevel in a single setup. The Ryerson Little Rock expansion is expected to be complete in March 2012.

This is the second expansion announcement for Ryerson in the last seven days--Ryerson announced last Tuesday that it is opening a long products service center in Houston--and the third in the last month; on November 14, Ryerson said that it has opened a new Utah service center.
