Russia’s stainless steel imports down 14.9 percent in Nov from Oct

Russian imports of stainless steel products in November this year decreased by 14.9 percent month on month to 21,512 mt, while rising by 10 percent compared to November 2014, according to Russia-based SpetsStal Association. 
 
Meanwhile, in November of the current year Russia’s flat rolled stainless steel imports decreased by 16.2 percent, stainless steel seamless pipe imports declined by 47.3 percent, while electric welded stainless steel pipe imports decreased by 33.6 percent, stainless steel billet imports decreased by 77.9 percent, and stainless steel pipe fittings imports moved down by 37.9 percent, all month-on-month. At the same time, stainless steel long product imports increased by 20.2 percent and stainless steel wire rod imports moved up by 24.5 percent, both compared to October.
 
In the January-November period of the current year, Russian imports of stainless steel products decreased by 10.5 percent year on year to 214,000 mt.
