Russian producers of consumer goods have appealed to the Russian governmental commission responsible for protective measures in foreign trade and for customs tariff policy to cancel the five percent import duty currently in place for cold rolled stainless steel products under the following HS Codes: 7219 233, 7219 34, 7220 20.
The producers in question have complained that the use of the stainless steel of Russian domestic producers makes their goods less competitive in the domestic market and leads to a reduction in their domestic market share.
Interested parties are invited to submit any relevant information, complaints and proposals to the Department of Comparative Analysis and Regulation of External Economic Activities of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) by September 1, 2008.
