Russian scrap exports up 6.9% in January-May

In the January-May period this year, Russia's steel scrap exports increased by 6.9 percent year on year to 2 million mt, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat). In May alone, Russia exported 509,700 mt of scrap, up 11.1 percent compared to May 2013.
