Russian scrap exports down 11 percent in 2013

In 2013, steel scrap exports from Russia declined by 11 percent year on year to 4.87 million mt, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat).

Turkey was the biggest buyer of Russian scrap during 2013, importing 1.88 million mt,,down 5.9 percent compared to 2012. Russian scrap exports to Belarus in the given year decreased by 14.5 percent year on year to 1.24 million mt, while Russian scrap exports to South Korea rose by 3.4 percent year on year to 724,000 mt.
