Russia to lift duties on imported tin ore temporarily

Russian government will reportedly suspend duties on imported tin ore and concentrates, which is currently 5%, for a nine-month period in order to boost metal production in domestic market. It is reported that the Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov signed the resolution however the new decree will be effective a month after it is issued in the Official Journal. General Director of Russian tin monopoly Novosibirsk stated that the temporary revocation of the duties will give Russia the opportunity to boost its tin production.
