The World Trade Organization (WTO) has announced that, following China, the EU and India, Russia also requests consultations with the US regarding the Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum imports to exchange views regarding the Section 232 measures on steel and aluminum imports and to reach an understanding on ways to achieve the objectives set out in the WTO’s agreement on safeguards.

The WTO stated that Russia is a WTO member that has a substantial interest as exporter of the products subject to the safeguard measures; therefore, it requests consultations with the US.
