Russia posts increased production results for 2012

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in 2012 Russia registered a four percent rise in its rolled steel product output to 61.8 million mt, a 3.3 percent increase in its crude steel output to 70.4 million mt and a 5.2 percent rise in its pig iron production to 50.5 million mt, all year on year.
 
In addition, in 2012 Russia produced 354 million mt of coal, up 5.2 percent compared to 2011, and 27.1 million mt of metallurgical coke, up 0.5 percent year on year.
