The UAE’s sharp 3,785.9 percent increase, making it the third-largest supplier, and the emergence this year of countries such as Indonesia, India, Algeria and Vietnam, which were not on last year’s list, indicate that Turkey’s billet and bloom import supply structure has been significantly reshaped. Overall, the 73.2 percent year-on-year increase in total imports was mainly driven by strong purchases from Russia and China, while new and growing supply sources supported the total volume despite the sharp decline in imports from Malaysia.
