Australian miner Rio Tinto’s lawsuit against Vale and BSG Resources claiming that the two companies “conspired to steal” Rio’s rights to explore the world’s biggest untapped iron-ore deposit in Guinea could conclude by September this year, according to a media report.

ANew York court should decide by September whether it accepts or not Vale, BSGR request to dismiss the case. According to the report, Vale had unsuccessfully tried to annul the case, which was filled by Rio Tinto on April 2014.

As reported by SteelOrbis last year, the Guinean government has canceled the mining licenses for the Simandou and Zogota iron ore projects due to a technical committee report, indicating that the mining licenses were obtained by BSG Resources Limited through corrupt practices.
