Raspadskaya‐Koksovaya mine operations suspended due to accident

On April 5, Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), the second largest coking coal producer in Russia, stated that an accident occurred at its Raspadskaya‐Koksovaya coking coal mine on April 4, following which operations at the mine have been temporarily suspended until the investigation into the causes of the accident have been completed.
 
The 204 people in the mine at the time of the accident were successfully evacuated. No miners were injured as a result of the accident.
 
"As of 8 pm (Moscow Standard Time), April 4, the situation at Raspadskaya‐Koksovaya mine stabilized, and all indicators of the gas regime are within normal limits," Raspadskaya said in its statement.
