Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), the second largest coking coal producer in Russia, has announced that on November 13 it recommenced operations at its MUK‐96 Mine.

The operations at Raspadskaya's MUK‐96 Mine were temporarily stopped for 20 days from October 20 this year due to a court decision on violations of industrial safety requirements.

MUK‐96 Mine has a capacity of about two million mt of coal a year, and accounts for about half of the coal mining production of Raspadskaya company after the accident which occurred at Raspadskaya mine in May this year. According to experts, the temporal stoppage of MUK‐96 Mine will not affect the company significantly, and may lead to a decrease in its output of just 1.4 percent.
