Qatar Steel becomes first GCC company to join ResponsibleSteel

Qatar’s EAF-based steelmaker Qatar Steel has announced that it has also joined ResponsibleSteel, becoming the first company from the GCC to join the initiative.

Having over 130 members, ResponsibleSteel is an initiative that aims to encourage steelmakers to produce carbon-neutral steel.

As reported earlier, Qatar aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent by 2030 as part of its National Vision 2030.
