Primetals to supply twin- ladle furnace to Jiangsu Shagang

UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies will supply a third twin-ladle furnace to Chinese steel producer Jiangsu Shagang Group Company Limited (Jiangsu Shagang).The new 140-mt  twin-ladle furnace will be added to the two existing ones, which were also supplied by Primetals. The additional ladle furnace will enable an entire annual production capacity of 2.8 million mt of liquid steel, while improving liquid steel quality being used in a continuous casting machine. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2019.

With an annual production of over 38.4 million mt, Jiangsu Shagang is the largest private steel producer in China. Its annual production capacity is 39.2 million mt of steel and 37.2 million mt rolled products. Its range of products includes heavy plates, hot rolled coils (HRC), steel wire, ribbed steel and special round steels.
