POSCO-South Asia launched to manage activities in the region

South Korean steelmaker POSCO officially launched POSCO-South Asia on August 25 to lead POSCO`s businesses in both southwestern and southeastern Asia.

According to a POSCO press release, POSCO-South Asia is expected to serve a pivot role in establishing a global steel network in the emerging markets of the region including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, as well as in southwestern Asia including India.

Based in Bangkok, Thailand, the company will oversee the sales and imports/exports that occur in the southeast and southwest Asian regions, while also carrying out various marketing activities for affiliates, along with employee education and training.

The company will also provide support to POSCO family companies to enter various business areas in the region including construction and energy, and will proactively support the improvement of POSCO's brand image.
