POSCO completes auto steel processing plant in Japan

On Thursday, May 21, South Korean steel manufacturer POSCO announced the completion of the construction of its new auto steel plant in Japan, namely, the POSCO-Japan Kyushu processing center.

According to POSCO, the new processing center, the company's third automotive steel processing factory, has an annual processing capacity of 150,000 mt of  auto steel plates and provides logistic services for the storing and transportation of 400,000 mt of steel plates annually. The new center will enable POSCO to make timely delivery of quality steel products to Japanese manufacturers of cars and car components such as Toyota Motor Corp, located in the Kyushu and Kansai regions.

In April, POSCO also completed building two steel processing plants in India and Thailand to meet increasing demand from auto and electronic companies there. With the plant in Japan, POSCO now has 37 steel processing centers in 12 countries.
