ISD Huta Czestochowa, the Poland-based steelmaking subsidiary of the Ukrainian steel group Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD) currently produces on average about 30,000 mt of flat rolled steel products per month, with its capacity utilization still far from reaching the pre-crisis levels, ISD Huta Czestochowa's press officer Jacek Leski has said in an interview to Polish industry portal wnp.pl.

"These results are better than those from the crisis period, but well below capacity. The market has picked up; however, the situation is far from mid-2008, when a boom for steel was seen," Mr. Leski said.

In addition, he said that for now ISD does not plan new investments in its Polish subsidiary, as the investment plan announced at the time of privatization was implemented ahead of schedule.

ISD Huta Czestochowa is Poland's leading producer of steel plate with an annual production capacity exceeding one million mt of rolled steel.
