Peruvian iron ore output up 4.7 percent in 2016

Iron ore production at Peru’s only producer, Shougang Hierro Peru, was up by 22.1 percent year on year in December last year, according to data issued by the country’s mines and energy ministry.
 
Shougang produced 583,264 mt of the commodity in December, up from 477,582 mt in the same month of 2015.
 
In 2016, Peruvian iron ore output totaled 7.7 million mt, increasing by 4.7 percent year on year.
