Peruvian iron ore output up seven percent in Q1

Iron ore production at Peru’s only producer, Shougang Hierro Peru, was up by 9.2 percent year on year in March this year, according to data issued by the country’s mines and energy ministry.
 
Shougang produced 833,369 mt of the commodity in March, up from 763,356 mt in the same month of 2016.
 
In the first quarter of this year, Peruvian iron ore output totaled 2.24 million mt, increasing by seven percent year on year.
