Peruvian iron ore output down 2.3 percent in January-September

Iron ore production at Peru’s only producer, Shougang Hierro Peru, was down by 35.1 percent year on year in September this year, according to data issued by the country’s mines and energy ministry.
 
Shougang produced 263,289 mt of the commodity in September, up from 405,473 mt in the same month of 2015.
 
In the first nine months of this year, Peruvian iron ore output totaled 5.79 million mt, decreasing by 2.3 percent year on year.
