Peruvian iron ore exports in June were stable at 1 million mt, from 1.1 million mt in the same period of the year prior, according to the nation’s central bank, BCRP.
In the month-on-month comparison, Peruvian exports of the commodity jumped 42.8 percent from 700,000 mt.
As for H1, the nation’s exports of iron ore reached 6.2 million mt, 3.1 percent down, year-on-year, from 6.4 million mt.
Prices for the commodity started to recover in April, when the product registered the lowest level in the year at an average price of FOB $26.40/mt. In June this year, average export prices for Peruvian iron ore reached FOB $38.40/mt, the highest level in H1.
