Peruvian iron ore export prices decline in July

Peruvian iron ore export prices declined by 41.8 percent in July, year-on-year, according to information released by the nation’s central bank, BCRP.

The bank said the average export price of the Peruvian commodity reached FOB $30.90/mt in July, as opposed to the FOB $38.40/mt export price seen in June and to FOB $53.10/mt last year.

Export prices for the Peruvian commodity were on a declining trend from January to April this year. In the beginning of the year, the product was being exported at FOB $37.70/mt, while in April it reached its lowest level in the year, FOB $26.40/mt.

In May and June, prices seemed to recover, reaching FOB $34.50/mt and FOB $38.40/mt, respectively.
