In June this year, iron ore production in Peru amounted to 751,745 long tons (763,808 mt), decreasing 2.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to Peru's Energy and Mining Ministry. In the first half of 2013, the country's total iron ore production was 3.3 million long tons (3,869,500 mt), marking a rise of 15.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
