Peru’s iron ore output reduced by half in August

In August this year, iron ore production in Peru amounted to 289,838 long tons (293,637 mt), decreasing by 49 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to Peru's Energy and Mining Ministry. In the first eight months of 2013, the country's total iron ore production was 4.67 million long tons (4.74 million mt), registering a growth of 4.35 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
