Finland-based steelmaker Outokumpu has announced the opening of a stainless steel sales office in Istanbul, Turkey. Outokumpu has been selling its stainless steel products to Turkey for many years from its units in Finland, Sweden and the UK. However, the rapidly-growing market has necessitated that the company take a more active role in the market, according to the company release. Thus, Outokumpu has decided to open a sales office in Turkey, considering that the country's location between East and West will allow the company to take advantage of the strong growth in the region. The new sales office in Turkey, which will be headed by Mr Ugur Arpaci, will maintain excellent relationships with current customers, coordinate sales from all units of the company and also provide technical expertise to support market development and provide assistance in materials selection for major projects, Outokumpu stated.
