OMK to invest Ruble 11.7 billion in mill 5000 in 2011

In 2011, Russian pipe producing company United Metallurgical Company (OMK) plans to invest Ruble 11.7 billion ($0.4 billion) in the completion of its mill 5000, up 17 percent compared to 2010. The unit is supposed to come on stream in the second half of the current year. The mill will produce wide sheets from high-strength steel grades. The projected capacity of the mill will be 1.2 million mt of sheets per year.


Investments in the development of the foundry-rolling complex of OMK will be doubled to Ruble 1.7 billion ($60.5 million) in 2011.
