The annual inflation rate of the 34 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries increased slightly to 2.9 percent in July this year, when compared to 2.8 percent in the previous month, according to the latest figures.
Excluding food and energy, annual inflation increased to 2.1 percent in July, compared with two percent in June.
Compared with June, annual inflation in July decreased to 2.0 percent in Germany from 2.1 percent. In July as compared with June, annual inflation grew to 3.0 percent in Canada from 2.5 percent, rose to 2.3 percent in France from 2.0 percent, was up to 1.5 percent in Italy from 1.3 percent, increased to 0.9 percent in Japan from 0.7 percent, while it remained stable at 2.9 percent in the US and at 2.3 percent (for the third consecutive month) in the UK.
